Getting To WordCamp

Location

The College of Extended Studies is located in the Extended Studies/Gateway Centers on the SDSU Campus.

While we’ll be providing parking for anyone who wants to drive, part of the reason we selected SDSU as our location was the easy access to the San Diego Trolley.  If you are staying downtown, the trolley is within walking distance from most hotels.

If you are driving:

Here is a printable set of directions. The important thing to remember is to park on LEVEL 5 OF PARKING STRUCTURE 2.  The parking structure is connected to the venue and is handicap accessible.

We have a great team of volunteers who will be outside to help guide you to the ramp once you are on campus.

Parking is included with your event ticket and you will receive your parking pass during registration. You will have to place in your car before the event.

If you plan on taking the trolley

Please review your trip on the SDMTS site.

What Do You Need To Bring?

Just your lovely self.  We will be serving coffee, tea and oj in the morning with pastries and muffins.  Lunch will be served at noon and we will have plenty of snacks, water and soda throughout the day.

Will there be free wi-fi?

Yes.  SDSU has free wifi. However, if you do have a hotspot of your own, we’d suggest bringing it as a backup method. The organizing committee will also try to ensure there are enough power strips to go around.

Will the event be streamed online?

Yes. Thanks to the help of the Hildreth Media Group, we will be streaming both tracks of WordCamp San Diego live.  Click Me To Watch

Is there an After Party?

Yes! If 8 hours of WordPress was not enough for you, thanks to our After Party sponsor BlogWorld Expo, we are headed over Downtown Johnny Browns for some more fun. Food will be provided for all and drink tickets are available for the first 160 folks who show up. You will need your conference badge so please do not forget it. The fun starts at 8PM and will go until the day is young.

Main Event Schedule

You can go to the main event schedule page but we figure it doesn’t hurt to post it here as well.

Still Need Somewhere to Stay

Well we have you covered. We’ve reserved a block of rooms for both Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th at the St. James Hotel, also known as the Ramada Gaslamp/Convention Center.

This historic hotel is located in the heart of the Gaslamp District and has just undergone a room renovation project. It’s also a short walk to the Trolley, which we suggest you take to and from the event.

The hotel has been gracious enough to offer a special WordCamp San Diego rate of $139 for a single and $159 for a double room. You will not find a lower rate for this hotel anywhere online.

Book now because these rooms and rates are not going to last!

To Reserve Your Room:

Please call 619.531.8877 and ask to reserve under the WordCamp San Diego group.
